Zhang Kaijian

Zhang Kaijian joined GCW Consulting in December
2005 as a Senior Advisor, and is based in the Beijing Office.
Kaijian, a 35-year veteran of China’s airline industry, was Deputy
Chief Economist, mainly in charge of airline alliances and
partnership, of Air China for 5 years. He also held various
positions in Air China in the 1990s, such as General Manager of the
Passenger Transportation Department, and Director of Marketing and
Sales Division. In the 1980s he was CAAC’s General Manager based at
various times, in the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Kuwait. Kaijian
was granted the certificate of Senior Economist by CAAC in 1998.
In 2005, Kaijian was invited to be a member of an expert team for
“Management Encyclopedia of China Civil Aviation” as an expert in
air transport industry. His name is mentioned in the book of “Who’s
Who of Chinese Experts” published in 2001. Kaijian likes to study
the air transport theory and to write articles related to airline
business. Most of his articles were published in the newspapers or
magazines of China civil aviation industry. He has also been invited
to be a keynote speaker at various forums, such as “International
Symposium Aircraft” in Tokyo, Japan, and “Boao Forum for Asia” in
Hainan, China.

A Beijing University of Foreign Languages graduate, Kaijian is
