Joanna Lu joined GCW Consulting in March 2004 and is based in GCW's Shanghai Office.

Joanna obtained her Bachelor degree in International Enterprise Management (Aviation Business Management) from Shanghai University of Engineering Science in 2000, and her Masters degree in Airport Planning and Management from Loughborough University, UK in 2003.

Since joined GCW, Joanna has participate in the consultancy work of hub development plan, air service marketing, air network plan, external expansion plan, airport facility plan and airport concession plan for many international airports and their service providers, and has participated in Low Cost Airlines market study, private carrier market research, and aviation regulatory environment research for the aviation industry.

While in the United Kingdom, Joanna participated various airport planning and design group work. She participated in the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) project for East Midland Airport and conducted a study of Chinese market entry for foreign logistics providers. She also attended practical training in airport planning and design training at Birmingham International Airport, management training at Rolls-Royce and air cargo management training at the DHL hub in East Midland Airport.

Before moving to the United Kingdom for further studies, Joanna was employed by Shanghai Airlines in various capacities. She was an International Technical Instructor responsible for aircraft payload, balance control and transport data management. She led the Quality Control study of payload planning and worked as a key member in implementing payload planning systems for Shanghai Airlines. Later at Shanghai Airlines, she was promoted to Flight Controller and was responsible for the flight on-time rate and processing controls. During her tenure with Shanghai Airlines, she was also responsible for training, managing new employees and writing employee training manuals.

Joanna has a twin sister who is working in Malaysia Airlines Shanghai Office as a sales officer. Joanna’s fiancé works as the supervisor of Alitalia Cargo PVG gateway. So this would be an aviation family. They all love this exiting industry.

During her spare time, Joanna likes to read (essays and novels), music and singing, fashion and shopping. She likes to spend her vacation traveling to islands and cities in the tropics. Working hard and relaxing is her tenet.
