Charles Wang joined GCW in September 2003 and is based in GCW's Shanghai Office. Charles is in charge of business development in Eastern China. Prior to joining GCW, Charles worked for Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd for more than five years and served as Secretary/PA in the General Manager's office, and later as the Research Director in the Securities Department.

Charles' previous experience at Shanghai Airport enabled him to learn a great deal about the aviation industry, giving him vital exposure to airports and airlines. He was one of the key team members in numerous projects for Shanghai Airport, and also led many research projects such as Shanghai Airport's financial Strategy in China and overseas capital markets, and the Shanghai "One City Two-Airport" management system. He was also a member of the team that worked on a consulting project for the Shanghai Airport Air Market Resource and Market Positioning which brought them to the USA for two months. The team studied all aspects of the operations of airports and airlines in China and abroad.

Charles is also very familiar with the capital structure and financing of airports both in China and overseas, and has spent a lot of time collecting information and data on airports worldwide, written many financial research reports, and has worked with professional researchers of securities institutes throughout the world.

While working at Shanghai Airport Co., Ltd., Charles pursued his doctorate degree in Economics from Fudan University of China. He is also a graduate from the School of Management of Fudan University with an impressive student record.

Charles and his wife Mamin have a two year old son, Kehan, and enjoy parenting and spending quality time with him. Charles also likes traveling, swimming, running, watching football and basketball, and reading books about economics and history.
